What needed attention
The domestic water main and the irrigation branch needed separate shutoff control. The existing irrigation lines scheduled for removal would be terminated as part of a future irrigation-system installation.
What the crew did
With the customer's approval, the crew exposed the water main and irrigation line and cut out the unnecessary irrigation piping. On the main service riser, they installed a ball valve for water to the home. They reconfigured the three-quarter-inch irrigation branch with a tee, female adapters, and a ProPress ball valve.
Result and next steps
The crew turned the water meter back on and inspected the new connections. No leaks were observed, and both the domestic supply and irrigation branch were functioning at completion.
